The EPF e-Passbook is the official statement of your provident fund account for each Member ID. It lists monthly contributions, withdrawals, transfers and annual interest.

Understanding the columns
| Employee share | Your 12% + VPF |
| Employer share | 3.67% (or balance after EPS) |
| Pension contribution | 8.33% of up to ₹15,000 → EPS, not withdrawable as PF |

| Transfer in / out | Balances moved from older Member IDs |

Why is pension shown separately?
EPS is a pension fund; it is paid as monthly pension or withdrawal benefit, not as PF balance.
Is the passbook proof for tax?
Yes, you can use it to compute taxable interest above ₹2.5 lakh.
