About this guide
In October 2025 the EPFO Central Board of Trustees merged 13 separate partial-withdrawal provisions into three categories — Essential Needs, Housing Needs and Special Circumstances. Members with 12 months of service can withdraw up to 100% of the eligible balance while keeping 25% of contributions as a minimum balance that continues to earn interest.
