Two-wheeler loans are easier to get than unsecured loans, but applications still fail — usually because of credit history, income or documentation problems. Find the reason before re-applying, because every new application adds a credit enquiry.
Common reasons and fixes
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| Low credit score or recent defaults | Clear overdues, wait a few months of on-time payments, then re-apply |
| Too many recent loan enquiries | Pause applications; apply to one lender at a time |
| High existing EMIs (FOIR) | Close small loans, add a co-applicant or choose a cheaper model |
| Income below lender minimum | Choose a lender with a lower threshold or add a co-applicant |
| Unverifiable income or address | Give bank statements, ITR and current address proof |
| KYC mismatch (name, date of birth) | Correct PAN/Aadhaar details before applying |
| Age outside the lender’s band | Add a younger co-applicant or shorten the tenure |
| Area or model not covered | Try another lender or the dealer’s tie-up financier |
Frequently asked questions
Will a rejection hurt my credit score?
The rejection itself is not reported, but each application creates a hard enquiry; several in a short time can lower your score.
