RBI allows loans against silver jewellery and coins from 1 April 2026.

The RBI (Lending Against Gold and Silver Collateral) Directions, 2025 allow banks, NBFCs and HFCs to lend against silver jewellery and coins from 1 April 2026. LTV limits are the same as gold loans, and there are quantity caps per borrower.
